New Balance 870 V2 Review

The New Balance M870 V2, with its enhanced stability and light weight, offers a smooth ride and breathability. The padded collar and a tongue for extra cush help improve the comfort of the shoe. The rubber sole will also prevent you from faltering every time you run on a pavement. The shoe also boasts of N-FUSE technology with a dual-construction midsole. The top layer is for absorbing the impact, while the compressed harder layer is for stability and control. The Rev-Lite midsole helps you run faster, although it has the same level of compression.

Overview of the New Balance 870 V2

The New Balance's M870 V2 has been designed to help runners who tend to overpronate. The New Balance shoes have always been known for their stability. My past experience with this brand and variety has always been good. I was, therefore, looking forward to the new version which boasts of a new outsole and a redesigned midsole.

If you have used New Balance before, you will notice the difference in the latest version from the word go. The upper surface with its thin mesh is more breathable, and allows moisture and sweat to escape during the run. You will enjoy your experience even during hot weathers. The models also come with an ABZORB foam sock liner. Unlike the previous models which were stiffer, the overlays of the new shoes fit my feet better. The larger saddle also supports and secures the middle of my foot. The toe box was perfect me. However, some of you may find it very shallow. The New Balance's M870 V2 also comes with standard “sausage link” laces.

The midsole of the shoe have seen some major changes in the latest model. The extended medial posting over the arch makes the new version both stable and flexible. The New Balance Stability Web moves the shoe closer to the midfoot, and counters the torsional forces that are generated due to over pronation of the foot. The Stability Web is also linked to more outsole rubber, further improving the stability of the shoe.

The ACTEVA LITE midsole foam in the New Balance 870 V2 is lighter than the traditional foam. It acts as a shock absorber and helps cushion your feet during the exercise. The shoe also boasts of the N-ERGY compound in the lateral heel section. It will support smooth transition to toe off.
