Who is 'The Running Advisor'?

Jeff running 2006 NYC MarathonHello, my name is Jeff Ray and I'm the author of TheRunningAdvisor.com. At the time of this writing, I'm 46 years old (7/2010) and have been an active runner and running enthusiast for the past 16 years. I was looking for a way to share my love of running with others and decided that there was no better way than to build a website.

My goal was to put together a well researched and clean site with top notch, easy to understand information related to running for everyone from the beginning 5K runner all the way to the experienced marathoner.

The Running Advisor strives to break down all the 'technical' terminology and put it in terms that the average individual can understand and, better yet, implement.

You may be asking, "What qualifications do you have that allows you to give out running advice"? That's a very relevant question and I'm glad you asked. As I mentioned above, I'm a running 'enthusiast'. Not a running coach or a former Olympic track athlete. However, I do have some outstanding running and running related experiences that, I believe, gives me a unique and 'seasoned' perspective on running that others may find helpful. Qualifications include: completed 11 marathons (PR of 3:28), 28 1/2 marathons (PR 1:34), numerous 15K, 10K, and 5K races, 2005 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, 2006 and 2007 Gulf Coast Half Ironman competitions, 2007 Alabama Powerman Duathlon, served as USATF Men's Olympic Marathon Trials - 2004 Track Official, trained under 8-time Hawaii Ironman Finisher Johnny Montgomery, and trained under Men's Olympic Marathon Trials competitor Scott Strand.

My desire is to provide the very best running information I can. You can help me do that. Please send in your suggestions, questions, comments, and articles to me via the Contact Us link.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Jeff
